Lotus Buttermilk Powder is obtained by removing water from liquid buttermilk that was derived from the churning of cream into butter. Use in pancakes, baking, sauces and waffles. To reconstitute add ½ cup of water to every 1 tablespoon of Lotus Buttermilk Powder then stir to fully incorporate the powder.
Buttermilk is made by culturing full fat or low fat milk (with a culture similar to yoghurt). This results in a thick and tangy liquid. It is much more convenient than fresh buttermilk for it can be kept in pantry for when you need it. It is a true buttermilk made from liquid left over after making butter which makes it very low fat, as all the fat is left in the butter and it is a fantastic cooking ingredient with its delicious taste and health boosting properties.
